The Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) is the first design based university in this region striving with the vision to be globally recognized leading creative university, committed to developing tomorrow’s human resources as global citizens, by offering an equitable access to higher education to all to impact society in a transformative way.

The university is committed to making graduates with knowledge and skills in the areas of creativity as well as general education namely, Fashion Design and Technology, Graphic Design and Multimedia, Apparel Manufacturing Management and Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Architecture, Interior Architecture, Business Administration, Judiciary, Government and Politics, English, Islamic Studies, Sociology and Anthropology, and Bangla. The university also puts emphasis on preserving and uplifting the cultural values of the country and as such, it runs the departments offering degrees in Fine Arts, Music and Dance.

My vision as the Vice-Chancellor is to create a safe, secure and healthy academic atmosphere and to develop SMUCT as a centre of excellence and as a centre of creation and dissemination of knowledge. I am proud to acknowledge that over the past 20 years, SMUCT has made remarkable progress in introducing a new stream of education by adding technology-based creative culture and education.
